MT4 Data Window

MT4 Data panel shows data about a stocks instrument, for a specified candlestick period. For example the trading charts below, shows how to choose data window from view menu options.(Ctrl+D is shortcut key for displaying data window without having to get it from the view menu)

Once the data panel is selected it will show, the following data about a stocks.

The following data for a stocks instrument is shown:

1. Stocks Trading Instrument
2. Date
3. Time
4. Open Stocks Price
5. High
6. Low
7. Close Stocks Price
8. Volume

This data will show info for a particular candlestick, by scrolling your mouse over the candlesticks on a Stocks chart this data will change to reflect the stocks price candlestick which the mouse has pointed at.

The data widow isn't popularly used in the MT4 Stock Platform as compared to the other MT4 stocks chart windows. However as a trader you can use this data panel to extract and display data and data about any stocks price candle and the stocks prices associated with this candlestick such as the opening stocks price data, closing stocks price data & high and low of stocks price.

Because most traders can obtain this information directly from the charts, then the traders might prefer to use the information that's readily available on the Stocks Trading chart within the MT4 stock platform software interface.

Another strategy to get this data is to use the Cross Hair Mouse Pointer, To get the Cross Hair Mouse Pointer one only requires to press down and hold down the wheel mouse button & the cross Hair will then appear. If your mouse does not have a wheel button, please go and buy another one so that you can trade the MT4 cross hair. And from this Cross Hair one can get the stocks price data as shown below.

From the Cross Hair above the vertical line will show data on the date for the current candle, the horizontal line will show stocks price of the stock at that particular point on the trading chart. For the above example of Stocks Trading chart you can see that the date is 2013.10.31 4:00GMT and the Stocks Price is shown for the selected point. The Open, High, Low, Close and Volume as well as Date is Shown Just below the Charts tab at the bottom of the MT4 Stocks Software, Marked as O: H: L: C: V: therefore the cross hair is a shortcut method of viewing data instead of going to the Data Window of the MT4

One can even click one point, hold down the mouse and move the mouse to another chart point to measure the pip movement of stocks price from point a to point on the Stocks Trading charts in the MT4 Stocks Trading Software as Shown below.
