Periodicity Toolbar Menu - Chart Time Frames on MetaTrader 4

Periodicity just means chart time frames, in MT4 this toolbar is used to select which chart time-frames to trade with.

The timeframes listed are:

  1. 1 Min - M1
  2. 5 Minute - M5
  3. 15 Min - M15
  4. 30 Min - M30
  5. 1 H - H1
  6. 4 Hours - H4
  7. Daily - D1
  8. Weekly - W1
  9. Monthly - MN

As a trader you only require to trade with only about 3 chart time frames, for example lets say a trader only requires the 15 minute, the 1 hour and the 4 hours time frame, then on the periodicity toolbar a trader can hide all the others which are not required using the following technique.

How to Customize

To add a tool not listed above a trader has to follow the following steps

  1. Right Click at the toolbar button key to the left (Looks like a stack of coins), shown below

How Do I Customize the Periodicity Toolbar on MT4?

2. Click customize

After following above steps the customize pop up window will appear as shown and illustrated below:

Select Chart Timeframes and Remove Them from the Periodicity Toolbar on MetaTrader 4

Select as illustrated above & click remove button.

The pop up panel will then look like:

Chart Timeframes Removed from Periodicity Toolbar on MetaTrader 4

On the platform the periodicity tool bar will now look like the examples illustrated below:

Using the above setup as a trader you can save space within your MT4 platform workspace by hiding the timeframes which you're not trading with.
